Our Approach

Our approach is a one that puts deliverability and quality at the core of what we do – in other words, we develop projects and write bids that inspire, make a difference AND are achievable in practise.

Having over 15 years of project management experience in further education, including welfare to work provision, our MD understands both the pressures and the possibilities that our sector presents and will work with you to ensure that projects provide achievable, added-value outcomes for both your organisation and your communities.

Our

Associates

Here at Laurea we have a number of professional associates that have a strong history of success in their field. They support our customers in wider elements of business development, including teaching and learning, strategic development, change management and leadership.

Our

Services

We can provide services either on a retained basis’ for organisations that wish to pre-book a number of days in the year at a reduced rate, or we can provide services on a ‘one off’ basis, for a specific tender or project. Contact us for further details and also to find out about our reduced rates for third sector organisations.

Services

Bid Writing

Either after we have worked with you to develop a project, or you have developed the project concept yourself, we can write a persuasive bid which will fully match the sponsor’s stated requirements and scope and we will ensure that it is presented fully proofed and compliant with word counts and other requirements. We can also ensure that output tables and financial plans are developed and agreed with you, ready for submission.
We have an 80% success rate in writing winning bids and this increases to 90% for ESF tenders. We can therefore provide valuable input into project modelling and development which will increase our chances of a winning tender.
We can also write for particular aspects of bids and tenders – for example, we can take care of understanding and conveying the labour market information and impact elements of Capital Investment Fund bids to the Skills Funding Agency.
We also support organisations with Due Diligence processes (for example, an application to become a subcontractor of a larger organisation or to join the Register of Approved Training Providers).

Project Ideas Generation

Sometimes the key to a great step change in your services and resources is the seed of a new idea.  All too often we keep on doing what we have always done and don’t give enough time to thinking about ‘what could be, if only we…..’  The great news is that ideas generation is something that we relish and we can work with your teams and your customers to help to define great potential projects and services, that with a little financial investment can change your organisation forever and for the better.

Services

Project Management

One of the key issues for many organisations is being able to ensure the capacity to manage a new project, in order to ensure that it is compliant and performs to time, cost and quality requirements; you need to be assured that the activity is adding value to the business, rather than being an unwelcome distraction.
We have a number of highly experienced project managers, all of whom have a experience of managing projects within an educational environment and across a wide range of funding types, from Jisc to ESF. Therefore, if you need support to initiate a project, before handover to your staff, in order to create Gantt charts, cash flows, document processes, customer journeys, course profiles and any other activities, including presentation to your senior management and corporation, we are able to supply project management services, either on an interim or long term basis.

Other

Services

Funding Search

So you have a great project idea but have no idea who might fund it.   We can undertake a search on your behalf and make contact with potential funders to test out the project idea to ensure that it is in scope and will be given good consideration by the funder.

Report Writing

Proofreading We also supply report writing and proofreading services, either for project related activity or for other purposes. Some funders require lengthy reports on an interim and end of project basis and we can develop these on your behalf. Attention to detail is one of the pre-requisites of bid writing and we’re very happy to offer proof reading as a separate service, as required.

Presentations, Contract Negotiation and Audits

Often, project sponsors require presentations from prospective contractors; where this is a requirement we can both develop high quality presentations and supporting documentation and can also support with the delivery of the presentation; likewise, we can provide direct support in contract negotiation and can also undertake audit preparation activities, including mock audit activity.
